A Truly Incredible Year of Sport at Sacred Heart School
As another fantastic sporting year comes to an end, we wanted to take a moment to reflect on what has been an incredible year for sport.
Firstly, we would like to say how immensely proud we are of every single child who has represented the school this year. Their enthusiasm, commitment, teamwork and determination have been exceptional. Whether competing at national level, representing the school for the very first time, or simply showing resilience and sportsmanship in training and fixtures, every child should be incredibly proud of themselves.
The progress across all year groups has been remarkable. It has been wonderful to see children grow not only in confidence and ability, but also in teamwork, resilience and a genuine love for sport. What has made this year so special is that participation has remained at the heart of everything we do, while also continuing to strive for excellence and competitive success.
This year has seen some truly historic moments and outstanding achievements, including:
- ISA U11 Girls National Football Champions – the first time ever in school history
- ISA U11 Boys Football qualified for the National Finals
- ISA Football Finals at St George’s Park – 13th in the country
- ISA Netball Champions at Lingfield – qualifying for Nationals for the first time ever.
- ISA Netball National Finals at Warwick – 12th in the country
- U11 Girls Football District Champions
- U11 Girls Football County Champions
- Mayfield Year 5/6 Netball Champions
- Tag Rugby A & B Teams – Joint First in their groups at the Crowborough RFC Festival
- Battle Abbey U11 Football – 3rd Place finish
- Battle Abbey Netball Year 4 Champions
- Battle Abbey Netball Year 6 Champions
- Mayfield Year 5/6 Cricket Champions
- Year 3 & 4 Basketball Champions
These achievements are something the whole school community should be incredibly proud of. However, what makes us most proud are not just the trophies and success, but the attitude of our children, their kindness, teamwork, perseverance and willingness to always give their very best.
A huge thank you must also go to staff and parents for their continued support throughout the year. School sport simply would not be possible without your encouragement and commitment.
The future of sport at Sacred Heart School is incredibly exciting, and we cannot wait to see what next year brings!
