ISA Girls National U11 Football Festival – Champions!
On Tuesday 30th September, our Sacred Heart girls made history at the ISA Girls U11 Football Festival, hosted at LVS Ascot.
Having been on the reserve list for months, we were delighted to receive a last minute phone call on Monday morning confirming our place. With no chance for a training session, the girls came together brilliantly to seize this opportunity, showing true spirit and determination. Despite a long 2½-hour journey with heavy traffic, we arrived with only five minutes to spare before our opening game and what a day it turned out to be!
Group Stage
Won 0-0 v Holme Grange School (a close game, with excellent saves from our goalkeeper Ottilie)
Won 1-0 v Weston Green School (goal from Sienna in the final minute)
Won 2-0 v St Mary’s School (goals from Isla Hayward and Annemieke)
Finishing joint-top, the group winner was decided by a coin toss. Mr Hayward called heads (against the children’s shouts of tails!) – and we won, meaning we topped the group.
Knockout Rounds...
Quarter-Final:
Won 2-1 v Shoreham (a dramatic comeback with Sophie Anne equalising in the final 80 seconds, before A.P. scored the winner)
Semi-Final:
Won 0-0 v Westbrook Hay Prep School (won 4-3 on penalties, scorers A.P., Ottilie, Marnie, Hattie)
Final:
Won 1-0 v Thorpe Hall (an early goal from A.P. and an incredible team defensive performance against opposition boasting academy players from Chelsea & West Ham)
The girls showed resilience, teamwork and heart, battling through every round to lift the trophy.
Final Result: Sacred Heart – ISA U11 Girls Champions 2025!
A truly fantastic achievement and a day the girls, families and school will never forget. Huge congratulations to all of our players you were outstanding!
